Kauneonga Block Party

A quarter of a million people of all ages filled the streets of Bethel, New York in 1969 to attend the Woodstock festival. 47 years later thousands of the revelers, locals, summer residents and weekenders returned to celebrate the free and open to the public 60's themed inaugural "Where the Heck is Kauneonga?” Block Party celebration. This day long, festive event featured live performances by top local musicians and performers on a main stage donated by Partymaster and equipment by Bethel Woods. The vibe continued throughout town with kid zones, arts & crafts vendors, safety demonstrations, eclectic food and more. 

On Sunday, June 18th the Block party volunteers will once again host a free open to the public Second Annual Kauneonga Block Party celebration from noon to 5 PM in and around Kauneonga Lake. 

This 60s-themed event, which is projected to be twice the size as last year, brings together Bethel area businesses, community-based organizations, nonprofits, top performers like the Forestburgh Playhouse, artists, musicians, artisans, The Genie of Sound DJ, vendors, and chefs from restaurants located all around Sullivan County. There will be many surprise guests and performers and an expanded Kid zone with family-friendly activities. Public and Private health organizations promoting Bethel Healthy Community Initiative and Sullivan County.

Come dressed in 60’s attire or just come as you are to celebrate the beginning of summer and Father's Day. Taste a wide variety of food from restaurants like Barrio Kitchen, Table and Tap, Benji & Jakes and other local eateries. Enjoy a craft beer at the beer garden, sit on the deck at the Fat Lady Café or browse the many unique and handmade items at the River House boutique.

Local roads leading to the center of town will be closed to motor vehicles providing a safe environment for walking, roller skating, biking, taking selfie's or just hanging out and enjoying a full day of entertainment for family and people of all ages. There will be ample on-site parking and shuttle buses and golf carts will be available.
