Reason to rent: Reason to rent: Picturesque pool in summer, yearround hot tub, and cozy design appealing during any season.
Timeless and elegant, the Hubert House setting is reminiscent of an old world country home while the thoughtful interior offers great light and clean lines with a modern sensibility.
Nestled on 20 private acres, a somewhat steep, winding drive leads to the house, providing perfect seclusion despite being easily accessible to town. The grounds offer an array of opportunities for activity and relaxation: the pool* for summertime lounging; a fire pit for stargazing and storytelling; a large grassy garden, great for lawn games; forested acres for exploring; and lake access for canoeing, just a short walk down the property.
The house is laid out over two floors. The lower level features a large, comfortable living room with wood stove, record player and loads of sunlight. Meander through a well-appointed kitchen and separate dining room and on to the two bedrooms: the first room has a twin and full bed, the other a king. There is one bathroom on this floor, which comes with a clawfoot tub and shower.
Upstairs are the next two bedrooms - one room with a king bed, and one room with a queen. There is a shared bathroom along that hallway, which has a walk-in shower. Aside from the grander amenities, we find that it's the details that really make the Hubert House inviting to guests. For example, the bedrooms all have excellent storage space for guest belongings, as well as writing desks and cozy textiles. These subtleties create an added layer of beauty and comfort to the experience.
One of our favorite features of the house is the two beautiful screened porches. Porch one has an in-floor hot tub and the other is an excellent choice for open air dining with fairy lights strewn along the ceiling.
When venturing out, you'll find that Jeffersonville is centrally located to all of the up and coming social hubs in this part of the Catskills. Livingston Manor, with its breweries, wine shops, restaurants and hiking, is just a short 15 minute drive. Callicoon's swimming holes, farmer's market and vintage movie theater are just 15 minutes in the other direction. Narrowsburg, a charming town on the Delaware with excellent dining, is 30 minutes away. And so much more!
